My grumpy/feel good guilty pleasure… she’s the best at writing grumpy Hs… another home run for me. Read more reviews at my blog: LOL! ON THE DECK!Ĥ.75 stars for this grumpy yet swoony celibate H who’s OBSESSED over the hĪh. This was just an ok read for me, but I look forward to reading more books by this author. ![]() I thought she was petulant and petty especially in how she dealt with Preston in front of his employees. I don’t mean to be on a high horse but that spells low character to me. When she was first introduced to us it was as a prolific thief. Tara on the other hand I had issues with. He was the epitome of a bosshole.overworked, demanding, high maintenance and great eye candy. He offers her the job of his EA on the spot (I still don’t understand why). She is caught by non other than the owner, Parker. She is going to an interview in Manhattan when she sneaks into this five star hotel to steal their complimentary gourmet breakfast that is solely for guests. Tara Lauren is a new college graduate in New York and although she is highly educated she cannot find a job. Preston Parker is a hotel mogul and he cannot keep an executive assistant due his bosshole ways. I have been on the office/boss/employee trope lately so I thought I would try this one out. So if that's something you're into, give this book a try. I think it's still a story that a lot of people with like, especially fans of those asshole heroes. But for me that whole thing just wasn't plausible and then made me question how the heroine was supposedly a law school graduate.īasically I just had some issues with this story that kept me from enjoying it too much. Maybe there are some attorneys out there that will look at the situation and go, oh yeah you totally have a case, but I don't know any of them and I would never want to use them for a case. But that brought up other issues with me because the whole "fine print" thing really just made no sense to me and it wasn't all that legal. Then around 50% or so is when we really dive in to their relationship after Tara tries to quit. And in between that time there was maybe one or two scenes where there was a spark of chemistry between them, a kiss here, a fingering there.and that was it. ![]() That's 2 years of nonsense and him being an asshole all while the heroine has no life. The book starts off with the hero being an asshole, which was expected, but then once the heroine was hired as his executive assistant the story then spanned about 2 years. Mostly because the timeline was super stretched out, and then on top of that I just didn't connect to these characters that well. Two Weeks Notice was a difficult book for me to get into. **This is a standalone contemporary romance.** ![]() Then again, I thought that was the case until he called me late last night with an emergency proposition. That letter was rejected with his sexy, trademark smirk and an “I highly suggest you read the fine print of your contract.”Īnd now I've realized that unless I fake my death, poison him, or find a way to renegotiate my impossible contract, I’m stuck working under one of the cockiest and most ruthless bosses in New York. That’s the version of my two weeks’ notice I should’ve sent to my boss, because the more professional version - the one where I said I was "grateful for all the opportunities," and "honored by all the rewarding experiences" over the years? I wish his next executive assistant all the luck in the world (she'll need it) and if my boss should need me to do anything over the next two weeks, kindly tell him that he can do it goddamn self. This was a VERY EASY decision to make, as the past two years have been utterly miserable. I am writing this letter to formally announce my resignation from Parker International (& the arrogant, condescending CEO) effective two weeks from today.
